Such a fantastic drama and I loved it every bit till the end...even though it made me ugly crying but that's what dramas are for, right??? The whole show was fantastic. The cast, the story and the beautiful landscapes that were shot in the show; they were all so wonderfully done. I loved Ah Ro and Sun Woo (even though Dog Bird isn't actually Sun Woo but Dog Bird took his friend's name and he pretended to be Sun Woo) although Sun Woo actually took me a little while to get used to him. I didn't started to like him until he reached the Hwarang House where he started to learn new skills and such. Although I loved Sun Woo's story, I was really happy that I guessed who he actually was. Go me! I fell in love with Ji Dwi aka King Jinheung How could you not fall in love with him??? He's beautiful and cute!! He's so pretty T_T this might be a bit weird but the one thing that I kept staring and that is his eyebrows. Like, he has the most beautiful eyebrows, how could you not stare at it??? I really loved his acting; I thought he portrayed his character fantastic. I also really loved Soo Ho (who played by Minho. I didn't know that until my boss told me. Any SHINee fans???) I loved him and he was my instant favorite; he's so silly and hilarious. Especially the scene where he was trying to figure out what happened to his sister and Yeo Wool tried to shush Han Sung And speaking about Han Sung...he's in trouble...Taehyung, you're in trouble. How could YOU!!!!!!!! His death made me cry so much, it hurts. ESPECIALLY THIS SCENE!! He's ball of sunshine! T_T To take that away...that's a crime T_T I couldn't stop crying over his death. I was literally "if only Han Sung could've been there till the end" I loved him so much it hurts. I couldn't accept his death; I refused to believe that he was dead. Also, with his death, I thought it was super eerie when Sun Woo brought his body to the classroom of Master We Hwa and I just broke down. I loved him so much even though he looked confused most of the time. But Taehyung really had some great acting scenes apart from his death. Like when he was training with his brother and he lashed out at him; that was some really good stuff right there. Big time wow for you. If there's a character I had to hate or loved at the same time, it was Queen Ji So. I loved her and hated her at the same time and you know an actress had done her job right if she managed to pull that off. She's an evil being that did everything in her power to get what she wanted and I actually loved that, tbh even if her choices weren't so great. It was also a bittersweet ending between her and Ahn Ji Gong. I loved their story Also, one last character that kinda bugged me was the princess, Sook-Myung. I felt that she didn't really had a character development other than the fact that she came a bit late to the show. One question that was in my mind was that what happened to her? I mean, yeah we got to see her sitting in her position beside Ji So at the end of the finale but then what happened? We saw what happened to Ji So since she died from the poison (which I also cried my eyes out) and we saw what happened to Sun Woo and King Jinhueng but the Princess basically peaced out afterwards and we didn't really see her. Also, I just remembered that how much I hated Master Young Shil. God, I hated him. I really did. I was glad that he finally lost his power and was able to step down at the finale. Finally! Another character that I really liked was the Chief Instructor, Master We Hwa. God, I loved him. He was the best and I was constantly asking myself if he ever managed to finish that rice cake snack completely. I loved him. I also loved LOVED the love between Ban Ryu and Soo Yeon. I kept waiting for them to see what happened with their relationship. Ahh they're so cute even though Ban Ryu kinda took me a while to like him because he was a complete jerk at the beginning but he warmed me up to him xD Ban Ryu's frantically trying to get out and Soo Yeon was like 'nope'. xD I love them.
Another thing that I did find asking myself was that what happened to the King's Bracelet? They used to make it so important and then when we reached the end, they kinda forgot about it. The bracelet did eventually made its way back to the owner, King Jinheung but that was a bit strange. Also, we didn't really get to find out why Dog Bird kept fainting since he had a fainting condition. I wish they had touched on that topic but I guess we have our imaginations, right? Overall, this show is honestly amazing and I would recommend for anyone to watch it. It was such a a great show and I'm saddened that it came to an end; an end that was satisfying and heart breaking because of Queen Ji So who held out for SO LONG just to see her son taking the throne before she died.
