Cancun 2018
Mexico is one of those places where it's full of sun, fun and fiestas. And it's also a land full of history and mystery.
Around mid-January, my friends and I got packed and ready to go to one of the most popular destination: Cancun, Mexico. It was about a five hour flight, travelling with Sunwing and we stayed there for nearly about a week and Cancun was an interesting trip I had went to. It was so full of fun with gorgeous views and with lots of different activities. We checked into a four-star all inclusive hotel Occidental Costa Cancun, spending our days around the hotel as well as doing the activities which I will get into it later. Our evenings, however, were spend around the beach bars and even by the swimming pool where we swam.
The first two days, we spend some time to relax from our flight as well as getting used to the rhythm of how everything worked around the hotel, checking out the surroundings, the beach, the restaurants that were near by and the swimming pool. Unfortunately, we didn't get much beach time because the weather wasn't really that good; it was either windy, cloudy and we did had rain but only for a day. Most of our time were spend down by the pool though the water was cold, we lounged beside it. Of course, we drank too.
After getting used to how the resort worked, we decided to check out some of the things they had where we thought it might sound fun and appealing to us. The first thing that came to our minds after checking out the pamphlet were Xcaret and Xplor. It was tiring but staying for a full day at the Xplor was really amazing. From ziplines to swimming in the caves to walking around, it was stunning and loads of fun.
Xplor was one of the best excursions I'd ever did and I would definitely go back and do it again. We took the bus for both the excursions since there were buses for each of the activities. We went to drive in a small jeep (of course, I didn't know how to drive back then so I missed out the Jeep but not all of it. I still did drove with my friends but I mainly sat at the back seat.) The ziplines were amazing as well as swimming in the caves were stunning but the water didn't really do justice because it was cold but I went swimming anyway.
But because you will be going to swim in the caves, I'd recommend to wear shoes because of those rocks that would be there. You definitely don't want to hit your barefoot on rocks. Ouch! That being said, don't take your fancy shoes if you don't want them to be ruined; take your old shoes instead and dry them with a hair blower afterwards!
But the water was so crystal clear, I couldn't stop looking at it.

Our next excursion was the Xcaret and it had a lot of walking; in a way, it was kind of like a zoo because of all the animals were saw. During our walk, we found a stray cat where we wanted to keep it but we had to let it go. Of course, they also had small canoe rides which was stunning. And at night, we saw a play where the ending was the best! Of course, we ate food although I didn't really ate much because I'm a picky eater. I wasn't really satisfied with Xcaret as much as I was with Xplor. There were some pretty views with Xcaret and that was a bit; I felt like there wasn't much to explore (see what I did there? ;) ) as how we did with Xplor. We also went to do Sea Trek where we literally trekked under water so that was pretty cool. At first, it was kind of unnerving and I don't like the deep even though it wasn't that deep.
Regardless, it was still fun though but by the time we all finished our trips, we were completely exhausted. Unfortunately, our trip came to an end and we were sad to go. We were especially sad to go because the weather started to be hot but we left on the day where that one time the weather was hot. Like really??? We didn't get any tan so that was a let down.
Nevertheless, out of all the trips I've been to so far, I would return to Cancun and explore more while staying for more than a week.
